I LOVE podcasts! I listen in the car and when I exercise. Podcasts are a great way to gain valuable information while on the go. As a copywriter and content marketer it is important to stay up-to-date on the industry, and podcasts are key to keeping me current.
Here are my 5 favorite podcasts as a copywriter.
1. Grammar Girl's Quick and Dirty Tips for Better Writing
Grammar Girl's Quick and Dirty Tips podcast was the 2017 Winner of Best Education Podcast in the Podcast Awards. Mignon Fogarty's dry sense of humor combined with her excellent command of the English language make the perfect mix for weekly tutorials on grammar. Each episode is short, sweet and to the point. Grammar Girl's tips will help improve your writing style and grammar. Whether you are a professional writer or not, this is a great podcast.
2. Copyblogger's Rainmaker FM
Copyblogger offers a wide range of services for copywriting professionals including a blog, courses, ebooks, and their podcast - Rainmaker FM. I am a longtime follower of Copyblogger and especially love Sonia Simone, Chief Content Officer of Rainmaker Digital. Rainmaker FM's honest discussion on content marketing and copywriting inspires and educates copywriters at all levels. This is a must listen for small business professionals trying to understand content marketing.
3. The Goal Digger Podcast
One of my clients turned me on to Jenna Kutcher this year, and I cannot get enough. She is a Wisconsin photographer who's mastered the art of digital marketing. She educates her audience on the ins and outs of social media and the importance of building your brand and platform. Her podcast, The Goal Digger Podcast, is informative and fun. Jenna is down to earth but still manages to establish authority in the ever-changing field of digital marketing.
ProBlogger is best known for their job board that links professional freelance writers to jobs around the globe. However, their podcast is one of my favorite features. The episodes are relatively short and offer tons of valuable information without the conversational fluff many podcasts include. If you want to make money blogging, ProBlogger is the top resource to guide you.
5. Social Zoom Factor with Pam Moore
Pam Moore is the queen of social media and content marketing. She knows her stuff! Social Zoom Factor is one of the first marketing podcasts I discovered. Pam has over 200 podcast episodes covering topics ranging from Facebook groups to personal branding. If you have a social media marketing question, you are sure to find a podcast episode with an answer.
If you are a busy small business owner with no extra time to learn about copywriting or content marketing, podcasts are a great way to build your knowledge. Contact me today to discuss your copywriting and content marketing strategies.
